In this MFA program, we imitate people all the time. Here’s my imitation of e.e.cummings in honor of Turkey Day.
i thank you God for most this thanksgiving
day:for cacophonous cats scatting zydeco
and daring open doors trying reggae singing
about southern belles finding strays in steely snow
bound for the cardamom harmony ringing
(i who have arrived here remember fleeing
now still staying;this is the first day;this is
the last day;this is the never day of being
;of remembering of celebrating of bliss)
how could thanking ranking naming noting
notes which are precious -- lifted from the sun
in the morning;trippingmedliesofalivebeing –
be anything but syncopating You?
(now the ears of my mind are joining
now the wings of my rest resound)

That's brilliant Renee. "i thank You God for most this amazing" is one of my favorite poems, and you did a great job playing with it. Hope your last days of class go well!
