disclaimer: writing prompts

Writing prompts are just that: prompts. Any material following it should be regarded as fiction and solely fiction, regardless of how autobiographical it sounds. Treated in this way, freewrites are just that: free. Without worrying about personal condemnation or disclosure, the author can write without inhibitions. The reader then gets a snippet of a story, and everyone wins--the author can write story and the reader can read story. And stories, regardless of being autobiographical or not, are what make up life.
